Founder Webster Lewis - 2019 Red Wine - Napa Valley

$95.00
Born in 1943 in Baltimore, Maryland, Webster Lewis was a musician, arranger, composer, and educator. He earned a bachelor's degree in sociology from Morgan State University, where he co-founded the Iota Phi Theta fraternity, before completing a master's degree at the New England Conservatory of Music.

Lewis began his career in jazz, collaborating with icons like Tony Williams and Bill Evans, before signing with Epic Records in 1976 and achieving commercial success with chart-topping disco tracks like "Give Me Some Emotion." A versatile session musician and producer, he worked alongside Herbie Hancock and Barry White, composed film soundtracks, and later taught jazz at Howard University. Lewis died at his home in Barryville, New York, on November 20, 2002, as a result of pneumonia and diabetes.

We introduce you to Founder Webster Lewis. Crafted in the Bordeaux style, this wine features dark blackberry, cherry, and plum, with hints of coffee and tobacco. The finish is dry with lasting berry notes and silky, firm tannins—enjoyable now, with great aging potential.
